Gorgeous play with color. The vibrant dissonance of the pink and green really made this piece step forward; eye-catching and alluring. The soft scratchy shadows alleviate any plasticity, hand in hand with the carefully detailed marks painted on the skin. Colored shadows and lights on top of the ready tonal variation lend a liveliness to her form and are tastefully accentuated by that green field of color. It's well balanced, nothing feels out of place or too heavy for the canvas, which mostly nullifies the need for other shapes or textures to lead the eye around the plane. It's a very open composition, inviting contemplative (and spunky) review and inspiring interesting thoughts. A lovely piece of art, executed with finesse.
